Type I Diabetes is generally found in children and young adults. Insulin is the only treatment available to them. Throughout life they have to be on insulin. Insulin producing cells are absent by birth or are destroyed by antibodies or by viral infection.

It is a frustrating condition in youth as he has to take injection regularly for life. Small children need a lot of motivation. Psychological and social support is essential in type I diabetes.
